Parasol base advice

How to Choose the Right Parasol Base for Your Parasol?

A parasol base is essential for a parasol. Whether you have a standing parasol or a cantilever parasol, a parasol base is necessary. To choose the right parasol base, you need to consider the weight of the parasol and the surface on which the base will stand. We are happy to help you select the right parasol base.

There are different types of parasol bases. Each has its qualities and not every parasol base is suitable for all parasols. A parasol base is important for the stability of the parasol. The heavier the base, the less likely the parasol is to tumble and fall in strong winds. A larger parasol naturally requires a heavier parasol base.

Movable Parasol Base

A movable parasol base is incredibly handy for easily moving a parasol. Choosing a parasol base with wheels allows you always to have shade where you want it. Especially heavier parasol bases are not easy to move without wheels. Want to create shade by your lounge set in the afternoon and move the parasol to the dining set on the other side of the garden by mealtime? No problem with a wheeled parasol base! Many in our parasol base collection have wheels, making even moving a heavy base easy!

Granite Parasol Base
A granite parasol base is sturdy and has wheels because granite is heavier than other parasol bases. A 40 kg granite base is suitable for pole parasols. Granite bases of 72, 90, and 300 kg are for cantilever parasols.

Parasol Tiles
These parasol tiles are suitable for our Palermo parasol base. The parasol tile weighs 60 kg and ensures stability. Parasol base tiles should be placed on the 90 kg granite base for a 350x300cm parasol.

Parasol Enclosure

Not a fan of the look of a parasol base? Not everyone likes having a large, heavy concrete or granite base on their patio. In our collection, you'll find beautifully crafted teak and aluminium covers to place over your parasol base, adding an extra touch of style to your parasol!

Available for our Nevada and Palermo parasols, these teak or aluminium covers are made from the same materials as our garden furniture. A cover truly unifies your patio's aesthetic!

Which Parasol Base Fits My Parasol?

This depends on the parasol and the size of the canopy. Also, a wheeled parasol base is more suitable for tiled surfaces and less suitable for grass. If you plan to move the parasol often, consider a wheeled parasol base. Otherwise, the concrete base, cross base, or ground base are good options.
